Hi! I’m looking forward to hearing your own personal story and getting to know you better. Can’t wait to hear what you have to say. I’ll be watching for your comments.
Your friend,
Alicia
Hi Alicia,
Well I think you my story and yes I would say I have not YET been successful with my marketing. Although, I do FEEL like I am finally on the right track.
It is quite a process but truly believe all the things I have been through are for a reason and necessary for my success.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Debbie
Thanks for sharing your story.
I am in an interesting transition right now– my foundation is crumbling and everything I knew is changing…
My primary business is suffering due to the economy, my bills are out of control, my relationship is very strained… etc. If this is not the kick in the pants to DO SOMETHING, then I don’t know what is.
So I am eagerly exploring new ways to receive additional and residual income. But what I am finding is that there’s so much great information out there, it’s overwhelming.
It’s a great learning lesson and I am confident that I will figure it all out.
Hi Alicia and Lisa,
I have been wondering why it seemed the two of you dropped off into space but I also knew there had to be a real good reason.
You know my story! Taking care of a 92 year old mother has been a journey of a lifetime. Not all good and not all bad. Mom has been very sick and I have had to put some of my business on the back burner for awhile but am anxious to get back in.
It can get a bit overwhelming to say the least.
I do miss hearing from you and Lisa. I will be anxiously waiting to see what is in store for all of us.
Cheers,
Donna H.
Dear Jean,
Thank you so much for sharing. Almost all of us have been in your shoes at one time or another. And boy, it sure seems like when it rains it pours! I’m so glad you are ‘eager’ in your search for new information. I’m going to make it my ‘mission’ to give you as much information as possible. I truly want to take your learning curve and drastically reduce it. I wish I could wave a magic wand and “poof” success would appear for you. But I can tell you this, your hard work and dedication will definitely pay off. I’ll be here for you on this amazing journey. Stay tuned with me!
Warmest regards,
Alicia
Dear Debbie,
One of the sales and marketing courses I’m currently enrolled in had Brian Tracey as a guest speaker. He said something that is so enlightening. We must have many failures before we can succeed. For every 100 times we try – we’ll fail 99 times. I’m willing to accept that! It just means YOU can’t give up. If you desire to truly learn marketing and sales, you’ll constantly be ‘feeding’ yourself with information. And I’m confident, if you stay on track, you’ll see the beauty of success. I’m anxious to be teaching you everything I know!
Sending love!
Alicia
Dear Donna,
You have a beautiful story and a kind and generous heart, Donna. Taking care of your 92-year-old mother is one of the most wonderful things a person could do. I know you’ve sacrificed a lot to do it, but it tells me scores about how loving and compassionate you are. I’m sorry to hear that your mom has been ill. I’ll be sure to keep her on my prayer list and ask my husband to pray for her too. So good to hear from you. Looking forward to getting our training fired up and sharing all the courses we’ve been taking!
With love,
Alicia
Alicia,
Thank you for sending your letter. I have always said, your a true leader. You walk the talk. I have seen that in everything you have done over the past several months.I know that without crystal clear goals one is like a ship on the stormy seas. I’m a living example of that. The title to my post should read…”Alicia, Lisa and everyone. I’m sorry!”
Sincerely,
Tom
Donna,
I can relate to you. I also take care of my 92 year old mother. Yes, there is ups and downs here also. But I’m blessed to still have her in my life.
The unending changes and new things to learn regarding Network Marketing training really are overwhelming and sometimes I feel it’s even to the point of disfunctional. It would be nice to really have some hold your hand guidance so you could make something work, than you could learn and try other ways of building the business but this time with a good feeling of success under your belt. Make sense?
Blessings,
Rick
Dear Tom,
It’s so good to hear from you!
If network marketing or sales/marketing were a simple task, everyone would be doing it. They are not. Here’s what I want to teach you. You can sell any product in the world with the proper training, skills and knowledge of sales and marketing. There is a tremendous amount to learn, there is no question.
Even the big name Internet gurus like Frank Kern, Eben Pagan, David Frey, Brian Tracy, Jeff Walker continue to study and absorb as much material as possible. Set realistic goals in your study habits and then start implementing them.
Lisa and I are working very hard to completely revamp, restructure our entire Empowered Business Entrepreneurs website so that we can take you from start to finish in the sales and marketing process. Every sales and marketing training course that we have consumed, and all of our experiences (I have 25 years in sales) will be spelled out so that you will have no question what to do next and what goal should be a priority.
So… Start studying my Introducing Secrets to Selling 7-Day Ecourse and get on the learning-journey-band-wagon!
Listen to what I teach, and keep moving forward in your learning journey to get the right skills.
Remember, you need knowledge to get skills, along with good work habits managing your time, and a positive mental energy that will continue to propel you forward.
Warmest regards,
Alicia
Hello All,
thanks for sharing your stories. It’s nice to know that I’m not alone in my struggles to produce another income. . . as my “day-job” has really gone down the crapper. I too have been studying like crazy, so I was emboldened to hear about Alicia’s recent self-education marathon. Easy on the caffeine Sister! ; )
I read something the other day that inspired me: everything we’re learning to do for our online business’ is being recommended for offline business: building websites, connecting with social media, and learning, learning and more learning. I’d much rather work and study at home.
Donna and Rick: there’s a special place in heaven for the both of you. Caring for our elderly parents is tough, but rewarding. Bless you both, and all of you others who are doing the same.
All of you: Rock!! Thanks Alicia and Lisa for all you do for the online community.
Wonderful!
thanks to all, Ellen
Hi Alicia,
I was really touched by your childhood story. It is funny how our childhood will shape how we travel through the rest of our lives, for best or worst. Both my parents were alcoholics, but I never realized that until I was an adult. I guess mixing them martinis at ten years old was not a very good thing to do. But living through the turmoil just motivated me to become independent at a very young age and have worked for anything that I ever had on my own.
Thanks for all your inspiration.
Joyce
I am so excited about your new concept. I felt that right when I was getting going on the EBE site and building my website things just kind of ended.
Dear Joyce,
One of the things I want to do by telling my own very personal story, is to ensure you that it doesn’t matter what your background is; each of us has the opportunity to not only dream about an amazing future, but actually possess it. It’s funny the things that motivate us – my own motivational reasons continue to change and develop. I love talking with you Joyce. Keep up the good work!
Sending love,
Alicia
P.S. I’m excited too, about the new EBE concept that is coming! Lisa and I plan on making the journey for learning sales and marketing much simpler. Stay posted for upcoming news and events! xoxoxo
Dear Ellen,
Thank you for sharing too! And yes, I’ve got to slow down on the caffeine buzz (I’m making Lisa a bit crazy with my hyper-activity, too, I think!!). Offline is BIG stuff! Always good to hear from you, Ellen!
Warmest regards,
Alicia
Alicia Bausley…..I haven’t heard your childhood story. Where do I go to hear it or am I getting ahead of myself? I am so glad you are back in the saddle so to speak. I really have missed you and Lisa. DH
Hi Donna,
Here’s a copy of my email that went out to you yesterday:
I have to apologize to you. I haven’t written for a variety of reasons, none of which seem very satisfactory for not staying in touch with you.
Will you forgive me?
The truth is that I’ve buried myself in a heap of sales and marketing books, audios, live events and training courses for months. I’ve barely lifted my head from my laptop or training, except to pour more coffee, grab a quick run in the morning with hubby and the dogs, or take the horses out for a little jaunt down the dusty trail.
I’m obsessed with one of my businesses which is aimed to help other small business entrepreneurs gain financial relief and be as well off financially (or better) as I am. You see, I truly believe I was meant to share my talents with others.
It wasn’t always a ‘cake walk’ for me. I’ve experienced some humbling things.
Let me share something with you that up until a few years ago, before I actually ‘made it in business’ I was too embarrassed to talk about. I no longer feel that sense of humiliation, because I’ve learned it was the driving force to my success. And telling my very personal story to you, will help you to see the road ahead too.
My parents were very hard workers and took excellent care of me and my younger three brothers. They loved us immensely, but we endured very difficult financial times. My dad was in construction and my mom cleaned other people’s homes. They worked long hours, taking care of their four children without many personal rewards. I’m grateful to them for their love and care.
My dad had some serious work injuries, breaking one leg seven different times (one of the falls was from a two-story scaffold). I remember as a child, watching my dad sitting on the side of the bathtub soaking the cast on his leg, and breaking it off weeks before it was suppose to be removed so he could go back to the construction job site. He was devoted to caring for us even at his own personal expense.
My mom and dad always saw to it that my brothers and I had a place to lay our heads at night, and we always had something to eat. But there were times that it was very rough growing up. Several months at a time we relied on food stamps, church donations of food, and buying second-hand clothes at the Goodwill to survive.
It was a childhood that taught me to be strong and it willed me to succeed. I really do believe it gave me the passion to better my life and help others, just like you.
Maybe you’ve experienced some of the same things? Have you ever felt the embarrassment of not being able to afford to go out to eat with friends?
Have you experienced guilt because you could not afford the soccer shoes for your child?
Are you tired of waking in the middle of the night because you fear you won’t be able to make this month’s house payment?
Would you love to know that there is an answer for everyday people just like you and me? I’ve learned how to turn lemons into lemonade. And it would be unfair to not share my success story with you.
Over the course of the next few weeks, I’m going to spend my time just getting to know you better. Be watching for my next email. I encourage you to post your comments on my blog.
Share your own personal story with me. I’d love to hear from you and I’m sure I’ll be able to relate to your story.
Your friend,
Alicia Bausley

P.S. I really believe it’s actually ‘freeing’ to tell this story. Would you like to get your own weight off your shoulders? I’m a great listener. Be sure to tell me your story by posting on my blog.

Hi Alicia,
Thank you for sharing your story with me. It’s always refreshing to hear someone’s past, what it was like, and the challenges they had to overcome in order to achieve their dreams. Yours is no exception.
I had a fairly normal childhood. Strict but loving parents, struggling to raise six children! (3 boys & 3 girls). My father had an excellent work ethic and held down a job where he stayed at for forty ( yes 40! ) years. Remember when you could do that!
His only regret was he always wanted to start his own business. He was a mechanic/electrician and he had his shop, equipment all ready to go. He then received a job offer and so needing the money, he took the job just to pay the bills. Well forty years later he retired, never having even attempted his dream.
This is relevant to me presently because I too am at a crossroads. I was a sales manager with a company for twenty two years. I, like my father, had the same work ethic which carried me far with my career. But I always wanted to strike out and be successful with a business of my own.
I guess you could say I’m a late bloomer. I had not even purchased a home until I was 46. I then went on to purchase ten single and multi-family homes over the next five years, all the while working as a sales manager. It was a lot of fun!
Then the market crashed and so did my investments. But I was O.K. with that. Business you know. Then a year ago the company I was with for twenty two years was sold and they had a “staff reduction” ( don’t you just love the terms that are used) and I was let go.
Prior to me being let go I was just starting to do research online about starting a business online. I loved the idea, and now after much research I’ve arrived here eager to succeed with you and Lisa as my guides. Being let go from my job, is an opportunity to finally realize my dreams and attain the level of success that I’ve wanted for a long time.
I also look forward to helping as many other people achieve their success too!
Regards, Ed
Hi Ed,
Your story warmed my heart (I read it out loud to my husband too). Sometimes it’s very difficult to see when we’ve been provided an opportunity (I call it a blessed gift). It’s what you DO with that opportunity that can change your entire life.
It’s going to take a real passion in your heart to achieve your success with a business online. The steps Lisa and I are going to being setting out for you will be clear and precise. But you’re going to have to work very hard in the learning and implementation journey.
Start absorbing as much material as possible about the topic that you are passionately in love with. Seriously, if there is no passion in your topic, it will be hard to remain ‘in love’ in the good times and bad.
Expect to stumble a whole bunch! Those stumbles will be your mistakes or failures. You MUST fail many times in your journey to succeed. Failure will show you what NOT to do next time. Please be willing to accept this as part of the entire process. I’ve failed in so many things! But I keep picking myself up and start again.
Implement what you learn. Get into a solid work schedule – plan out your weekly calendar.
Keep an eye out for my next email, where I tell you about my own ‘blessed gift’ of my husband and I both losing our jobs on the same day. That one event changed our whole lives!
Warm regards,
Alicia
Hi Alicia,
Oh what a relief it is to hear from you and Lisa again. I thought I was guilty of either saying or doing something that ticked you both off.
My life has hit some bumps in the road again.
I am in quite a bind right now as I have been told my job will be eliminated (even though the company is growing and just built a huge brand new, multi-million dollar plant just across the street).
I will lose my current job in the near future.
At the same time my wife’s retail business has been taking huge hits for several months due to the economy and looks like we will be out of business about the same time I lose my J.O.B.
Lots of challenges and head wind. But God is good and I keep moving ahead with His grace, mercy, provision and protection.
I am also grateful for friends like you two and others on-line and off.
As Lisa always says, peace. Easter is in sight and what a hope we have in Him.
Changis
Dear Changis,
It is so good to hear from old friends! Lisa and I have been entrenched in a joint venture project that had us consumed for several months – but we are fully back and completely focused on our friends through our EBE business! Again, I’m sorry for not writing sooner!
I know the bumpy road of life very well (I’ll be sharing that in my next email with you – where my husband and I lost our jobs on the very same day). I completely identify with the fear that you are likely going through. Our economy struggles, and although we read about it in the papers and hear it on the news, until it personally hits, we can’t seem to identify with it.
My greatest gift in this life is the one of Faith. I believe that we are provided various opportunities everyday (some as simple as making friends with a total stranger and brightening their day). It’s what we DO with our actions that is key.
There will be many challenges ahead for you, but with faith, and unshakable persistence in doing what needs to be done, you will succeed. Consider what your dream is now and what you are passionate about and go for it!
If building a business is part of your plan, Lisa and I will be here for you to help you in your learning journey. We’ll be here ALWAYS, to be your friend!
Your friend,
Alicia
Hi, Alicia,
I just read your post and it touched my heart. I’m a single mom of 4 (my husband died 7 years ago) and I’m really struggling with my oldest son (he’s 17 – not an easy age under the best of circumstances!). He’s doing awful in school, so he just refuses to go. I’m working with the school and have hired a therapist, but it’s slow going and very stressful.
All this has left my network marketing business floundering. I absolutely am committed to making it work, though, especially since my family’s future depends on it. But it’s hard to know what to work on next when my brain is going in so many different directions!
I’m looking forward to getting back on track. Thanks for all that you do.
Anne
Dear Anne,
You have a lot of responsibility on your shoulders. I’m always amazed at the amount of work that a single mom does. I’ve never experienced motherhood (other than my dogs and horses!), but I realize it’s a huge commitment of time, love, and mentoring. You have your priorities right with focused attention on your son. I’ll make every effort to provide information on my site that is extremely valuable, useful and will help you in your business. I’ll also work to make the steps simple to follow and save you time (so you can spend more time with your children).
I’m looking forward to hearing more from you. We will all continue to see bumps and big hills to climb in our journey of life. It’s much easier though, when you know you are in a great circle of friends and support. I’ll be here!
Your friend,
Alicia
Hi Anne,
My heart goes out to you. I raised three children all alone through their very tough teen years and it was a struggle. My oldest daughter now is a single mother of two, which her youngest one was born with only one hand and my heart goes out to her trying to make ends meet and going to all these doctor’s appts alone.
Single parents are a diamond in the sand to me. We go through many rough times in our lives but we turn into diamonds if we don’t give up. Keep going! My children all turned out wonderful.
My oldest, which is my only son went through an extremely tough teen period and even had to go to prison for a year. The guards loved him, he just made a big mistake. TODAY, he is happily married, has a wonderful job, a beautiful home and is the most precious son I could ever ask for. He never fails to tell me when he hangs up the phone from me to thank me for standing behind him and not giving up on him. He is an awesome young man. DON’T give up on your kids. They are a gift to you…..
Thanks Alicia and Lisa for being there for all of us. I love you both.
Donna H.
Dear Donna,
Beautifully stated. And I love you, too!
Alicia
Alicia;
Great story. After 30 years in consulting, I am now trying to reinvent my business life in online marketing, but i can relate (painfully) well to the feeling of knowing I had a better way to do things then the corporate honchos. From Renegade Pro and now having begun SBI (on yours and Lisa’s recommendation), I feel now as though I have a plan and am on track, despite the “challenges” of SBI Day 2. Thanks for your leadership!
Brian Kerr
You both have inspired me to pick up from where I left off with my SBI website. I was told by a number of sources to use blogs etc. first, and post my value-added “stuff”all over the internet. It wasn’t until I heard you both speak about the importance of an SBI website and how you both regretted not doing one sooner. The SBI training is excellent! Yet, I still find I may need a coach. Is this your department?
My niche is a great one. I can’t tell you here. The problem though is I don’t see a whole lot of monitization options . I see great affiliates, i.e: what does Mike Klingler, Mike Dillard, Ann Sieg etc, but what do they have to do with my niche? I want a monetization option that relates to my niche.
Also, I like all of the people mentioned above. Working on another program seems like too heavy a workload, when in combination with SBI, but SBI alone is slow and steady (like the tortoise) in terms of bringing in traffic. Should I not have another monetization program, to increase my traffic sooner? I have a real time management problem here. Help! I need clarity. I want to get SBI off the ground soon, but I feel as if I am selling myself short, missing other opportunities if i only focus on SBI.
Thanks for allowing my to vent
Blessings to you both,
Lisa
Lisa
Dear Lisa,
It’s such a nice feeling to know that we have been an inspiration! When others are inspired by our work, it further drives me to help them. Keep a close eye on our site for a number of expert services that will be coming to help….we’re in the process of developing it all out now. I’m curious, what is it specifically that you would like to be coached on with SBI? Where to start? Monetization? Time management? Let us know and we’ll see what we can do to help you.
We are going to release some new content VERY soon (days away) on our Empowered Business Entrepreneurs site that explains our Empowered Business Matrix – our own system of building a business. Be sure to read it, because it addresses what to do first in your business before you can do anything else.
Your monetization does not have to be affiliate related. You can even start creating your very own set of products (books, videos, teleseminars), which relate directly to your topic (which I hope you are passionate about!).
Keep posting your thoughts and comments here for us and we’ll do whatever we can to get you where you want to go!
Warmest regards,
Alicia
Dear Brian,
Thank you! Oh, boy, was I ever challenged on Day 2 of SBI for my first site! But the process made the second and third site much easier! Lisa and I will continue to strive to be outstanding leaders to you, and truly help you move through our proven system of having a very profitable business. More importantly, you’ll get to see how your quality of life improves with the success!
Warm regards,
Alicia
Brian,
I am reading this and this is so hilarious! I didn’t even see your comment before I posted mine. You have an SBI website too! And you are on Day 2? Me Too!!!! -:)Totally agree with you it is challenging, but it is also fun……
Alicia what an amazing story. I admire your drive and do what you need to do attitude. I know that your story will inspire many to work through difficult times and know there is a better way.
Alicia,
Thanks for your reply.
As for as coaching for SBI, yes, time management, as well as critiquing, how to spin my theme so I know which keyword focused content pages to use. Since I am only on day 2 I am finding slightly more technical terms being used. I had 3 choices, but I deleted 2 of them before doing the full analysis because looking at the numbers I knew they would be either too broad or too narrow.
Thank you,
Dear Lori,
Great hearing from you Lori! I hope my story is an example to everyone else, to tell their own, too! This easy exchange of stories is the same way we make friends face-to-face. Through our stories and personal experiences that we share with each other, we build relationships that are strong and loyal. It’s a natural human process. Anyone can do it – and it feels GREAT!
Your friend,
Alicia
Alicia: Always great to hear when someone overcomes their problems and succeeds! I don’t have any great hardship story, and have been self-employed most of my life. I have always made a living, but never ever hit it “big”. Like many others in the country right now seems to be my worst financial state. Yet I feel that I am very close to finally making it, just trying to figure out how to fine tune things to make it happen. Always open to new things!
Hi Alicia,
I really appreciate your candid response to my letter. Telling me what to expect, stumbling, mistakes, hard work etc, is a real occurrence in any process. I expect this and embrace the challenge.
Your story about your husband and you losing your jobs the same day is quite a story. I liked the point of decision, where both of you decided to start your OWN business instead of going to work for another company. I think that was a very empowering point because like you said-HOPE- entered in replacing FEAR, resulting in action.
About the next step, I feel I need help at determining my niche. Starting there would be a good point. I feel I need to drill it down to a more specific accurate area. Then it would be on where to start with building my business.
Look forward to your response,
Regards, Ed
Hi Alicia,
Nice to hear from you again. Actually, I need everything you listed. I’m starting to work on a website/blog but finding a niche and narrowing it down has been difficult, and then relating it to my business even more so.
While learning all this on line marketing is great, I need immediate income and so I’ve been marketing face to face with little training. Having come from an administrative support background, selling is a huge learning curve for me and I’m experiencing closing challenges.
Looking forward to more information. Thanks for sharing your story.
Phyllis
Hi Alicia,
You may not remember me, as I was one of your first downlines within the Send Out Cards business. I have been following your success and I would like to have the success that you have but have failed in every aspect of it. I think that the problem that I have is that I don’t get results quick enough to make it worth my time. I feel like nothing in these marketing businesses ever works out for me. I really need someone who can work with me one-on-one without me having to shell out thousands of dollars to do so.
There are so many different options out there now and so may ways to market that it overwhelms me. I have read so many things that are supposed to be a turn-key way of selling on the internet or marketing that my head is going to explode. I follow these supposed turn-key programs and none of them work for me. And the only response I get is to “try harder”.
Unfortunatley, try harder just isn’t good enough. My husband is so fed up with my ventures that he has threated me if I try another one. I really would like to prove to him that you can be successful with marketing but I am on information overload!
I look forward to hearing from you again soon!
Dear Alicia,
I have had some gut-wrenching experiences before and when “hope” sets in, ahhhhh, it is the best and most exciting feeling, to know that there are real possibilities right around the corner.
I am working with 2 other gentlemen on a project that has awesome mass appeal. Every single American can benefit and will want our product. We know how to market it and how to give the most value to our customers but we are having a little bit of a struggle finding financing to start our company. Do you have any suggestions? We have a very generous pay-back plan, just need to get the ball rolling.
Thank you for any advice you can give me.
Sincerely,
Diane Hawkes
Dear David,
Great David! I’ve discovered that hitting it big, means that I must constantly be on a learning journey and then implementing the actions. I fail MOST of the time! But it’s that one action that succeeds that takes me to the next level. Then I work through the next set of ‘actions’ where I’ll make more mistakes. But alas! I then hit another success and I move a step closer to the top of the mountain I’m climbing. These series of mistakes, has allowed me to create a very clear picture of what to do in building any business. I look forward to seeing you on this journey with me!
Warm regards,
Alicia
Dearest Phyllis,
Hello! So good to see you here! Ahhh! Selling is my specialty! And it’s so much easier than everyone realizes. You see – I don’t even think about it in terms of ‘selling’. I’m so engrossed in uncovering what someone needs and providing a perfect solution, that it’s a natural process I’ve learned to go through. ANYONE can learn these steps. Just yesterday, someone came to me very interested in purchasing a high ticket item from me. Easily, I could have presented all the benefits and closed a sale. But I persuaded him NOT TO BUY – because I knew it was not a fit for him. Then I gave him direction to do something else. So selling has integrity, emotions, and lots of love in it! You have all three of these characteristics!
Keep you eye on my emails, so you can follow what I’m getting ready to teach!
Sending love to you,
Alicia
Dear Heather,
Of course I remember you! Actually, although you may FEEL like you have failed, you have actually learned a whole lot! That knowledge on what NOT to do will help you in your continued travels. One thing that is very common is for people to jump around from one program to the next without any implementation of what they have just learned. Moving from one business to another, won’t get you where you want to go.
There are four elements to my Empowered Business Matrix that Lisa and I will be teaching in depth.
1. Comprehend
2. Construct
3. Communicate
4. Currency
Within the mist of these simple four elements will be your desire and tenacity. Take advantage of everything FREE that I am going to be giving you. Absorb it, practice it, study it, and then learn to implement it. Allow me to take your information overload and toss it out the window! Keep watching….I’m got some very exciting training coming up!
Warm regards,
Alicia
Dear Diane,
Hope is definitely one of three elements in my life that moves me forward (Faith, Hope and Love, and the greatest of these is Love!).
There are many ways to get financing – one of which is campaigning to a desired target audience your needs. This is the exact process that you already know how to do (which you state, “We know how to market it.”) You must ‘sell’ your extremely narrowed niche of investors on your entire framework of ideas for your product launch through a very detailed campaign of messages.
The other is to bring in other partners that get a cut of your business (collaboration, joint ventures).
The third is to consider accessing a small business loan (I understand that there are special small business loans just for women).
I’d be remiss if I didn’t have you reconsider your statement (that every American will want your product). This is where nearly every business fails – because they don’t target their specific audience. Instead they get ‘emotional’ with their own product (they love it so much!) and try to encompass the entire marketplace in their marketing strategy. You may want to consider researching a smaller audience, and then you can spread your wings, so to speak, and start encompassing or expanding into other audiences.
I wish you every success! It sounds like you are on a roll!
Warm regards,
Alicia
Hi Alicia;
Wow you are one busy lady.My story is not that much different from many here.
I too had my own businesses and they were successful but due to health issues of my own I was no longer able to work either one.My partner through this all decided to bail on me and left me holding the bag so to speak.
I have slowly recovered from that.I was just getting started with you and my new online business when again hit by health problems. I was barely over the majority of mine when I received a call from one of my sisters that our brother had been hospitalized and after many tests it was determined that he had bone cancer. He passed away three months after at the age of 51.
I again was hit with yet another surgery myself for a recurring hernia. So I had another surgery and 2 weeks later another family member called and another of my sisters was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer.
God this was devastating news. Her and I are the closest in the family.
So I have moved back to Alberta to care for her and help her husband get through it as well.
So I have put my business literally on hold while all this plays out.
For now my sister remains with us,and we think the cancer has gone into remission, thank god.
I will remain living here with them until the end.
I can now concentrate on my business once again. I feel quite over whelmed with everything at times and keep those moments to myself. I will get through all that has happened and with greater strength than even I thought possible.
Like they say What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.
Here’s hoping.
Thankfully you and Lisa are back and I am anxious to hear what you have in store for all.
Welcome back
Joy
Dear Joy,
You touch on a subject that I think all of us can relate to. Whether we have experienced our own poor health or have been involved with family and friends who are ill or facing the end of their lives, we’ve felt the stress and pressure of life.
That’s the time when we really need to reassess what our purpose here on this earth is.
I firmly believe that you have chosen wisely, in regards to caring for your brother and your sister. What an incredible blessing you have been! You are doing, what we sometimes forget or fail to do, and that is to give unselfishly and to make others a priority.
I’ve been reassessing my own life purpose (at age 50!) and this is the message I want to be able to share, and I quote from scripture on this beautiful Easter morning!
Joy, you are a living example of love! Thank you for sharing your story. I look foward to hearing how you and your family are doing.
Sending you love,
Alicia
Alicia,
Thank you for sharing your story. So many similar stories out there. It is disheartening to see so many struggling. But we can be thankful that God is there helping us through these struggles.
My story is no different. I grew up on a dairy farm, as did my husband and we learned what hard work was.
It wasn’t until 2000 when we built a new home(small but more efficient than the previous house) that the struggles really began. In 2001 we both lost our jobs in the same company. We worked for a couple years in a factory but I was too ill to handle that work so had to quit in 2002. I started cleaning houses in 2003 at which time my husband walked off his job because of the unsafe conditions where he worked(it wasn’t worth it). We started cleaning houses together and that blossomed into a service and repair for us with my husband doing handyman jobs.
Well, that’s been 7 years ago and we are really struggling to stay afloat. My health is not the best and I am literally burned out. I have been trying to get a nwm business going.
I trust God will get us through this no matter what happens. But I would really appreciate any encouraging thoughts. Thank you.
Dear Bonnie,
If you are looking for encouraging thoughts – you’ve come to the right place!
The most important aspect of all of your struggles is (I firmly believe this) is that God WILL get you through your struggles. He will also help those who help themselves. So if you are looking to become successful in a network marketing company, then you need to know what you are selling and who you are selling to.
Then you need to know how you want to approach these targeted customers. The best way to create a cash flow fast, is through face to face sales or over the phone (that’s what I teach in my Secrets to Selling course). Marketing through the Internet can definitely achieve a high level of success, but there is a system of steps you must take to get very good at closing sales over the Internet. A surefire way to close sales and create immediate cash-flow is picking up the telephone and using an approach that is warm, conversational, and solves the problem of your targeted customer.
If you are passionate about your direction that you choose (network marketing) then you will need to get really focused on your training and skills to sell. Lisa and I are in the process of disclosing our own proven system of what works to create a cash flow in business. Watch for my next email (coming very shortly!) that will start giving you the direction to go (and it won’t cost you a dime!).
It’s my goal to give you, a small business entrepreneur, the direction, training, hope, and support to build a profitable business (no matter what business you choose!).
We’ll be here to be guiding you along in your journey. I want to create a substantial amount of FREE training so ANYBODY has a chance to achieve what they dream. Keep watching! I’m working diligently on preparing everything for you.
Warmest regards,
Alicia
Hi Alicia,
I appreciate your telling me your story and command you for your perseverance. Thanks for allowing me to share my story and my needs with you.
I also had a hard childhood back in Brazil. My dad abandoned the family when I was 7 years old, my brother 8, the next sister 1 and the youngest was an infant. My mom was an elementary school teacher which meant a very small salary. We had to move in with my grandparents and lived with them until we became adults.
I was lucky to be able to get a free trip to the United States as an exchange student when I was 18 years old. Then, the family who hosted me invited me to stay with them and go to college.
After college, I went back to Brazil and was able to get good jobs because of my English and French. Then, I started my own little language school which I administered for 4 years.
Due to a divorce, God granted me the grace of returning to the US 12 years ago. I, then, married an American and worked in schools, offices and interpreting on the phone from home, but never earning enough.
At the beginning of 2008, because of disappointments with the corporate world, I started looking for a opportunities to work from home on my own and was officially introduced to MLM. However, as most people, I was unable to get leads at my warm market.
So, I went online and found Ann Sieg and then by the end of the year, I stumbled on Renegade University and I started creating a presence online, but wasn’t sure about continuing with the MLM because I didn’t like all the products the company represented.
Recently, I found two interesting companies that I thought were worth working with: VM Direct and Global Resorts International. There’s a lot to learn about them, but I’m confident because when I started a 1 ½ year ago, I knew very little about the Internet.
My main need now is to learn how to create good sales pages to sell my two MLMs.
God bless,
Ligia
Your new video and selling course look great, just purchased the 1 hr video, looking forward to the GOODS!
I just read day 1 of your free course..GREAT..I have a clearer vision of a few of my “stickie” spots…YAY…have a great day..ENJOY the Halverson event.
Dear Ligia,
Thank you for sharing your own story. I hope you realize how powerful a step that was – being able to share your personal story with others, and connecting with them on a very personal level.
Your journey is an exciting one – and it’s evident that you have faith and strength. I look forward to sharing more of my own personal experiences and training so I can help you personally. Writing a sales page was one of the first writing projects I tackled. It’s easier than you think – it just takes a bit of time to put it together. One thing that many people do not realize, is that you have two markets with your MLM: the ones who want to buy the product and the ones who want to join your opportunity. Only one market (product OR opportunity) per sales page (you don’t want to confuse them with your message).
Look for more on writing sales pages in upcoming trainings, videos, and live events (ssshh…did I say Live Event???).
Warmest regards,
Alicia
Hello Alicia and Lisa,
I’ve just finished reading “How to Easily Simplify Information Overload” and “Comprehending Your Customer.” I printed the articles and highlighted sections that are particularly applicable to me.
In the Information Overload article, you definitely hit the nail on the head in describing what I’ve experienced in my journey of endeavoring to build a business. A system that truly works for me is absolutely what I’m looking for. Implementing a proven marketing system that generates customers sounds wonderful!
The four aspects of comprehending my customer are familiar concepts to me, but the way you present the information brings more clarity than ever before.
After working hundreds of hours attempting to build a business; spending thousands of dollars for training materials; and constantly staring Failure in the face, I’m more than ready to make my dream become a reality.
I look forward to hearing more from you!
Jan
Dear Jan,
What a beautiful message to read on this wonderful Friday morning. I know what Lisa and I are capable of providing to help you build your business and I am overjoyed that we get to help! Stay with us, because we are working very hard ‘behind the scenes’ to continue to bring you spelled-out answers, step by step direction, and ultimately a process that will say, “Here is the exact checklist for what you will start doing on Monday morning” to get profitable very quickly.
I’m not talking about a dream – I’m talking about REALITY. It’s doable. I know for sure that what we will be teaching IS the missing link that everyone is talking about to build their business.
Warm regards,
Alicia
I’ve figured out that failure is not such a bad thing. My repeated “missing the mark” has lead me to the exceptional duo of Alicia and Lisa. What a pair they are. The information and training they are producing is exactly what I have been seeking.
I am so sick of the “pie in the sky” approach to business that you see all over the internet.
For the first time I am looking at my home business from a real foundational standpoint. Instead of top/down view I’m seeing it from bottom/up which turns this whole thing into a more tangible and clearer view with attainable objectives as it grows(which it has a very long way to go). Starting all over again!
Thank you ladies for your spirit, guidance and encouragement.
Sandra
Dear Sandra,
There is a saying, ‘Failure is not an option’, but in all reality, we fail many more times than we ever succeed. It’s just part of the process. When I started learning online marketing three years ago, I’d never imagine it would take me from selling one MLM product, to creating my own products, or selling many different other affiliate product lines! Have I started over? Yes, but in a very good way. I’ve been lead in the direction where my passion is, and that is serving others to be the best they can be in their own business.
I just spoke to a friend today (who is in our business) and we were discussing her passion and her website. Turns out her website is not a reflection of her own passion. I told her to take it down and do what she LOVES to do. START OVER!
It’s hard to do sometimes because you think of everything you invested and the thought of starting over sounds very daunting. But it’s empowering!
Thank you for the wonderfully kind comments. We really do want to hear from you and learn more about your own journey. Thank you for subscribing to our list, for being a valued customer, and for allowing us to serve you. We are sincerely grateful.
Your friend,
Alicia
HI! the lesson were really good, I did learn things that I did not know, but..these lessons teach you how to deal and approach the lead that you are calling , now the question is:
HOW DO YOU get THE LEADS TO BEGIN WITH?
you claim we have to create or get our own leads but how? I know we can get leads from you but they will be use to try to get them in your own MLM business? or can we use them to let them know about a different mlm?
thanks.
Hi Jay,
You’re right… our Secrets To Selling training is focused on how to convert leads into customers and turn one-time customers into lifelong customers.
Your question about how to get them is answered in some of our other materials. Here’s a list:
So, Jay, that should get you started with learning how to attract your own leads by positioning yourself as the “got-to guy” in your niche. We do NOT give or sell our leads because you never want to rely on other people for YOUR leads. We teach people how to get their own supply using the best tools and strategies on the Internet — and offline too. That’s how you build a business to last!
Hope that helps!
Peace,
Lisa Hanfileti

Hi Alicia,
Just finish listening to your audio with Kelly. It showed me that I have to do the homework to progress with my training. Although I have always thought of you are a person who was a much better speaker than myself, I have come to the realization that you have put in the work to make yourself excel.
Thanks for your wonderful insights!
Hi Joyce!
Bingo! You got it gal! I didn’t start out being comfortable in sales, but as I practiced, it got so easy…just like carrying on a conversation with a friend!
Looking forward to helping you more in the Special Teleseminar we’ll be holding very soon.
Your friend,
Alicia
Hi Alicia,
I have really been enjoying all the great strategies that allows business builders to succeed. It gets into all the details that are so important. One of my problems has been talking on the phone and retaining the information. With the homework Secrets To Selling has I am starting to apply it to my marketing and getting results. I love how you structured all this to be able to reach our full potential. It’s worth every penny and so much more.
Thanks
Rick Salas
Hi Rick,
I am SO happy that you are enjoying the Secrets To Selling course. Congratulations – for being a focused student, and then implementing what you are learning. I look forward to seeing you on our live teleseminar next week. I hope you can make it!
Warm regards,
Alicia
Hi Alicia and Lisa,
Listening to your teleseminar was so inspiring for me.
Sorry I missed the live event!
I’ve had the overwhelmed blues lately and needed to take hold of myself and develop a true focus.
You fine ladies were the catalyst!
My next project on my website is ‘Direct Selling’ with the purpose funneling it into SOC, being my passionate choice of a networking marketing.
As part of my content, I want to include Opt In Pages that lead to your ‘Secrets To Selling’
What free reports do you suggest I use to achieve this objective?
In other words I want ‘marry’ Secrets To Selling’ to SOC
Your wise direction please.
Many thanks,
Bryan
Hi Team,
Well, I finally decided to jump in and listen to the first session of STS. It is amazing how fast time moves. Over the weekend I read the quick start tips and set up a training schedule to complete this course in the next two weeks.
The requirements for each session is 1) Watch, Listen and Read. 2) Complete the action steps in the workbook and 3) Post comments on the website. Thus this completes the final part of session I.
This session has introduced a different theory of sales approach to me. The traditional method could be called the telemarketing approach or COLD CALLS. In my opinion, this approach is very uncomfortable on both parties. STS shares the consultative approach, focusing on their needs and determining solutions for them.
My next training date is scheduled for Wednesday.
Dear Bryan,
We missed you on the teleseminar! However, it looks like you were able to ‘catchup’ with us on the recording. Good deal!
There are lots of options for a free report, which can be anywhere from 5 pages or more for your prospects.
Depending on who you will be talking to (your target audience), think of a special report that will fall in line with the theme of selling. It could be a special report on customer service, providing content with value, the ten tips for closing a sale, how to pick up the telephone and talk comfortably and confidently to a client, and more!
Watch for a new book that Lisa and I are GIVING AWAY in the next week or so! It may help you with some new ideas for your own specail report!
Thank you for being a valued client of ours, Bryan! We do appreciate YOU!
Warm regards,
Alicia & Lisa
Woo-hoo, John! Congratulations for getting into the study mode. I commend you for taking constructive action. As I mentioned on the teleseminar, I’m confident that the steps we teach within the Secrets To Selling course will be the foundation for creating outstanding content in your written material, audio and videos!
Keep us posted. We love hearing from you!
Warm regards,
Alicia and Lisa
Hi Team,
Session 2 presented the first 3 of 7 consultative skills. I got the most with the information relating to the third skill, open-ended questions. This is so important for a sales call. Conversations can be very short when the prospect gives one word answers, like yes or no. The session reminds us of the true probing questions that start with who, what, where, when, why or how. These questions lead us to our ultimate objective of closing the sale.
My next training date is scheduled for Saturday (before the grandchildren arrive).
Thanks,
John
Hi Alicia and Lisa,
Just got done with Session One. I even did the homework although I got stumped by question 11. Guess I didn’t listen well enough. There is always a trick question.
I have to say that I am amazed at the work that you both put into this program. I don’t know how you keep in balance but I think you just learned to work smarter.
You are both inspirations and I hope to follow in your footsteps ( I have little feet so I am sure I will be able to follow).
Have a good holiday!
Joyce
Hi John,
Great work! It’s so good to see you on ‘track’ and staying focused. Congratulations and keep up the continued attention to completing the course. This course teaches all the elements of the sales process that you will use DAILY in your online marketing! Trust me!
Alicia
Hi Joyce,
So glad you are getting started on our Secrets To Selling course. Joyce, there is a way that Lisa and I stay extremely focused and I discuss it in an upcoming FREE ebook (watch for it!) called The Empowered Business Sales Conversion Formula. Also, there will be a series of free training videos that accompany it and will help you to manage your time more wisely and productively. Keep up the posts…it’s a great accountability system!
Sending love your way!
Alicia
Hi Alicia,
Wow you are one busy lady. My story is not that much different from many here. I too had my own businesses and they were successful but due to health issues of my own I was no longer able to work either one. My partner through this all decided to bail on me and left me holding the bag so to speak. So I have put my business literally on hold while all this plays out.For now my sister remains with us,and we think the cancer has gone into remission, thank god.
Welcome back
Joy
